Set your role as supplying a large number of people who will sell the product into their own local areas.
You are not limited as to where you might sell. You can sell anywhere in the country or anywhere in the world.
You are not a retailer that sells to the consumer. As a wholesale distributor your role is to find retailers who sell to the consumer.
You may hire subagents, salesman, and any other person to do the soliciting for you.
You are an independent contractor and you set your own goals, time schedule, and work your business as you see fit.
So you may have a sales representative (or more) in each of the 50 states and have that sales representative find for you 20 customers in that state. If you do that and achieved a $100 per month profit from each of their customers, your monthly gross income will be $100,000 per month.
That is an achievable goal and there are foreign companies selling product into the U.S. small business market that have representatives who are making that kind of money.
But you should start small and build your first network of 20 customers so that you learn the product and the business.
Know Your Product
For you to be effective you must know your product.
Product knowledge is basic to any sales process. Even though you will be focusing on Mazovian Brand amber, you should know the amber market in general. You want to become an expert. Shipping from Poland to the United States is done by using the Polish Express (Pocztex) postal system. The minimum cost is $50 per package. Because you can generally import jewelry and not pay customs if you import less than $2,000 at a time, it is best to order less than $2,000 in jewelry at a time.
The shipping time is approximately four to five days.
You may sell the amber at whenever price you set. The retail price of the amber is generally set at three to four times the price that you pay for it. You may find some pieces that are particularly attractive and mark them up more. It is not uncommon to see some of this jewelry retail priced at five and six times the wholesale price in some of the higher quality shops.
When you are selling this amber wholesale, a 10 to 25 percent markup is appropriate with the amount of markup depending on the volume that your customer will do.

Once you get your sample package
It is a matter of getting the samples that you have in front of your customers. If they are ready to buy, sell them the sample package and order another. It will only take you four or five days to get it replaced.
