As you do you market research you will find that most of the larger online stores have affiliate programs. Not only do they have affiliate programs, many of them also have coupon discount programs.
For example look at the largest drop shipper in the world. That is Amazon. Amazon has grown through the use of affiliates that send business to them.
And there are huge affiliate networks out there such as Commission Junction, Pay.com and ClickBank that support companies that want to set up their own affiliate programs.
By using an affiliate program with your own online store you will be able to get other people linking back to your website and selling for you. You can spend most of your time promoting your site by finding affiliates to sell for you. If you get if hundred affiliates that send you customers each day, your sales will skyrocket.
So when you set up your website you should set it up with the idea that you WILL use an affiliate program. I say again. Pland that you WILL use an affiliate program.
We recommend that you use the Yahoo Merchant Solutions and use their Yahoo store program for many reasons. One of the primary reasons that we make the recommendation is that they have a built-in affiliate program and coupon discount program.
Some of the other reasons include a free domain name, excellent back office support, simple setup of your website and store without having to know anything about coding, excellent order tracking and overall excellent service.
And it is very cheap considering what you get.
But if it really comes down to it and someone would say to me what is the primary reason that you think Yahoo Merchant Solutions are best, I would say because of the built-in affiliate program. I add a caveat that you use the Yahoo store to sell things like crystal, Polish pottery, Christmas ornaments and other hard goods that you get from the drop ship supplier, distributor or factory. You do not use it for electronic products or selling for other affiliate programs.
You can of course use something like Commission Junction. But you will find that they are extremely expensive to set up. They are really for big companies that have money to gamble. Information about them is here. Commission Junction
Pay.com offers you an affiliate program but you do not get a store included. But if you already have a store online and need an affiliate program then by all means consider pay.com.
And if you are going to sell electronic products that can be downloaded, is it is hard to beat ClickBank.
In any case take your time and start by looking at Yahoo Merchant Solutions and see what they offer. They are our first recommendation. The others that we have recommended are essentially fill in options.
